Colombia's Carnival of the Devil Minitheme Presentation

Free Google Slides theme, PowerPoint template, and Canva presentation template

The Carnival of the Devil is a festival that commemorates peace, although it may seem the contrary because of its name. Two villages in Colombia, "Quiebralomo" (descendants of Spanish settlers) and "La Montaña" (indigenous people) had been in conflict for centuries, until in 1819 the parish priests of both managed to unite them into a single village, "Riosucio". A statue of a devil was placed between the churches of the two communities to instill fear and respect. In this way, the carnival is created, a way to seek peace through the celebration that takes that devil as an image.
